34 Lives Saved with Narcan

10/13/2017 – Thirty-four lives have been saved as the Tulsa Police Department has administered Narcan, a medication that can reverse the effects of a life-threatening opiate overdose, and on Friday TPD was recognized for their achievement.

TPD has received the Heartland Alcohol and Substance Abuse Conference Community Project Award.

This award was presented to the Tulsa Police Department for the efforts of their officers with the Naloxone Initiative. This program trains and equips law enforcement officers with Narcan.

To date, TPD has made 34 saves using the drug and has helped provide Narcan instruction to law enforcement officers from more than 100 agencies across Oklahoma.

Ofc. Anthony First accepted the award on behalf of the Tulsa Police Department.
