Tulsa Police Foundation Random Acts of Kindness
During the Holiday Season – the Tulsa Police Foundation – with the support of the men and women of the Tulsa Police Department – hand out holiday hams, gift and gas cards to members of the community.
Sometimes officers will ‘pull over’ a recipient and give them a turkey or a ham, instead of a ticket, or they may see someone paying in change for gas and will surprise them by filling up their gas tank – spreading some holiday cheer in the process.
This is a week-long event right before the holidays that we have done the last 7 years and each year it has grown into a larger event. This year’s Random Acts of Kindness will be December 19th – 23rd, 2023
The foundation raises money to purchase hams, turkeys, gas cards, and gift cards. During Random Acts of Kindness, we load up and supply our police department with those items to hand out to those in need in our city. This is a great way to help law enforcement connect with the community that they serve.
We gave out $50,000 for this initiative last year to be able to help those in need. In 2020 we also added a 2-week long toy drive that helped give our officers even more things to give back to those in need in our community.
