Officers Revive Suspect

03/20/2016 – Tulsa police say two officers revived a man after finding him without a pulse Saturday evening. It happened during a domestic dispute in the 6300 block of South Owasso, records show.

Witnesses told police a 27-year-old man was hitting and kicking his girlfriend when the man’s 17-year-old brother intervened. When officers got to the house, the older brother was face down on the floor with the younger brother sitting on his back.

The 17-year-old male told police he was sitting on his brother to restrain him.

“When he removed himself, officers discovered the suspect was unresponsive and had no pulse,” a report states.

Officers Jennifer Murphy and Kayla Johnson started chest compressions until firefighters and EMSA got to the scene.

“Through Officer Murphy’s and Johnson’s efforts along with fire and EMSA, the suspect regained a pulse and was transported to the hospital where he is currently breathing on a ventilator and undergoing tests,” the report states.

The girlfriend apparently ran from the house and had not been located late Saturday. Witnesses tell police she was bleeding.

The incident is under investigation.
