Tulsa Police Officers Save Life

12/04/2014 – On December 3rd, 2014 TPD Officers J. Beal and S. Kite responded to an address in north Tulsa on a well-being check / possible suicidal subject call. With the family’s assistance the officers entered the house and found an approximately 50 year old woman in the back of the house. She was unconscious and barely breathing. The officers also noticed empty pill bottles next to her.

Recognizing the situation for what it was, and with Officer Kite’s assistance, Officer Beal administered one dose of Narcan to the woman. Within 1-2 minutes her breathing returned to a normal rate and she began to awaken. EMSA arrived shortly after and transported the patient to a local ER for further evaluation.

The responding paramedics wished to offer high praise for both of these officers. She went on to compliment both officers on their fast action and good decision making. She also wanted to pass on how grateful she and her partner are for all of the help these two officers provided. She regards both of these officers as heroes.

We would like to only recognize the lifesaving efforts of Officers J. Beal and S. Kite but to highlight a great example of teamwork between agencies and how much of a difference it makes when we all band together out there.

Incredible work by TPD Officers J. Beal, S. Kite, and EMSA Paramedic Brittnee Umphress and Medic Craig Bell!!
