The Tulsa Police Foundation was founded by Roger Chasteen through the Tulsa Community Foundation. In its inaugural year, the Foundation made an immediate difference by donating more than 200 tasers to the Tulsa Police Department—enhancing officer safety and community protection.
The Foundation expanded its community outreach by partnering with local organizations to strengthen relationships between officers and residents. This included hosting the Community and Police Leadership Collaborative in partnership with Leadership Tulsa, fostering open dialogue and trust between the Tulsa Police Department and the community it serves.
The Tulsa Police Foundation launches Random Acts of Kindness, empowering officers to give back to the community in a personal way. During the holiday season, officers traded in traffic tickets for moments of generosity—distributing meal kits, fuel cards, and other essentials to individuals and families in need. This initiative not only provided immediate relief to struggling Tulsans but also helped strengthen trust, compassion, and human connection between officers and the community they serve.
In response to the line-of-duty shooting on June 29 that tragically claimed Sergeant Craig Johnson’s life and critically wounded Officer Aurash Zarkeshan, the Tulsa Police Foundation was proud to lead a community-wide fundraising effort in partnership with KRMG raising over $600,000 to support the families of both officers.

The Tulsa Police Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of dedicated service to strengthening the bond between the Tulsa community and its police officers. In celebration of this milestone, the Foundation unveiled a fresh rebrand and a new logo symbolizing its role as the bridge connecting the community with the men and women of the Tulsa Police Department. The design reflects movement and unity with three distinct shapes converging toward a single point. The colors also have meaning: yellow represents community, blue stands for the Tulsa Police Department, and green is the Foundation itself. This modern visual identity represents ongoing progress, collaboration, and the shared mission of creating a safer, stronger Tulsa for all.
Our Board of Directors had the privilege of touring the Tulsa Police Department’s new helicopter hangar—a $5.4 million investment in keeping Tulsa safe. A great example of a successful public/private partnership, a combination of city funding and charitable dollars generously donated by the H.A. and Mary K. Chapman Foundation enabled construction of this state-of-the-art facility. We’re proud to see our community unite behind TPD and the officers who serve every day.
